One-Act Play Festival

Don't miss a very entertaining set of short shows by our wonderfully talented 7th and 8th graders:

A Simple Task by Alan Haehnel -
Empie has a simple first assignment at her new job: Retrieve a box of merchandise for the Boss. But what do you do when the box is blocked by a parade of confusing characters, your boos keeps changing identities and your whole career starts to feel absurd?

Excuses, Excuses by Alan Haehnel -
For Norma, hope springs eternal. Even though she has been assigned to direct a group of complete misfits in a theatrical project, even though virtually every attempt at organizing them has met with failure, even though the curtain has opened and still nobody knows what to do, Norma is certain something will work out. She is absolutely right while being absolutely wrong. Nothing does work out, but by the end of the show, the audience is rolling in the aisles over the hilarious events that happen while nothing is being accomplished. Welcome to Dysfunction Junction, where not getting there is all the fun!

Hard Candy by Jonathan Rand
Job applicants at Banff Enterprises will do anything to claw their way up the corporate ladder. In a fast-paced series of hilarious interviews, the new recruits try every trick in the book - from bribery, nepotism, and the Old Boy Network to blackmail and mind control.

The Audition by Don Zolidis
A new theatre teacher is bringing a production of A Chorus Line to the high school. Though the hopefuls range from shy to outrageous, from diva-like to determined, everyone has a chance to step into the spotlight. A hilarious and heartbreaking look at the madness of auditioning and the actors who brave the process for that perfect part.

Tickets are $10 - Adults, $8 - Child/Student/Senior, $5 - Each for group of 10 or more.
We hope to see you there
