Cab students excel at BPA

Cab Calloway School of the Arts middle school brought home top honors and recognition for the Red Clay School District and the State of Delaware at the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference held in Dallas Texas June 17-21. Nine State Winners attended conference workshops and competed against over 3,000 students nationwide. They were accompanied by teacher Jenn Peters and parent coach Angie Barker.

The BPA Club at Cab Calloway is dedicated to developing professionalism and leadership through club activities, competitions and state and national leadership conferences. Club advisor is Business teacher Nancy Cleveland and the chapter president is Noah Henry.

Cab winners at the National Conference were:

Business Math: Finalist Reilly Megee
Business Communications: First place Samuel Katz, Finalist Reilly Megee, Finalist Sharnelle Anthony
Computer Literacy: Third Place Samuel Katz, Finalist Reilly Megee, Finalist Nik Eastburn
Prepared Speech: First Place Sarah Barker
Extemporaneous Speaking: Second Place Natalie Lane, Finalist Sharnelle Anthony, Finalist Veronica Hanus
Web Design Team: First Place Reilly Megee, Brianna Jefferies, Nik Eastburn
Career Research Team: Second Place Sharnelle Anthony, Miranda Garrett, Veronica Hanus
